This is a unique two-unit building in the heart of Munjoy Hill on Portland’s east end. The three bedroom, two and a half bath units are mirror images of one another, each with four levels. The intent of the project was to create multi-level rental units perfect for families.
This is a unique two-unit building in the heart of Munjoy Hill on Portland’s east end. The three bedroom, two and a half bath units are mirror images of one another, each with four levels. The intent of the project was to create multi-level rental units perfect for families. The building is highly energy efficient: it was constructed to capture as much solar gain as possible and has double walls to allow for a large amount of insulation.
We incorporated two off street parking spots in the shared garage. Each unit has a private back yard and side walkway. On the second level of each unit is a beautiful ultra-modern kitchen equipped with top-of-the line Miele appliances, pantry units, a six person eat in kitchen island, and a living room featuring an elegant Valor gas fireplace. The third level has two bedrooms, a laundry room, and a shared bathroom with a tiled shower, custom glass doors, and wall mount vanities. The bedrooms have large windows and closets with custom built ins.
On the top level is the primary bedroom and bath, a walk in closet, and a roof deck. The bathroom is ultra-modern with a European feel: the bathroom floor flows into the six-foot custom shower with no curb. The angle of the roof complements the custom tile enclosure and the frameless glass doors of the shower bring it all together beautifully. The roof deck offers a glorious view of Casco Bay and its many islands, a perfect place for a morning coffee or sunset drink!
The owner asked us to furnish the units. This is something we really love to do for our clients because we feel the furnishings bring the entire project together.
